Gadmeer
This species was discovered by the formerly enslaved Enkarans during a terraforming process on the Enkarans' new homeworld. First contact was season four's "Scorched Earth". The Gadmeer are highly technologically advanced, but cannot inhabit a normal "Earth like" atmosphere.

Gerak

Former first prime of Montu, a mino goa'uld who bounced between masters as they fell, starting with Ra and eventually ending with Baal before Montu was killed.

Gerak is the leader of the council of the Free Jaffa Nation due to having control of the largest military force after the collapse of the goa'uld ssytem lords. Gerak is old fashioned and was not the preferred leader for the Free Jaffa Nation as he is not a great believer in democracy.

Originally Gerak was feverently against anybody claiming to be a god due to the sufferring his people endured at the ahnds of the Goa'uld. Gerak was present when an Ori Prior came to the SGC and this has touched him deeply.

Since this occurrence Gerak and Teal'c have many arguments regarding Gerak's policies in running the Free Jaffa Nation. Many in the Free Jaffa Nation are split over who to follow, Gerak and the manipulated council, or Teal'c and his brethren.

GDO - Garage Door Opener


a GDO is a small device carried by SG teams to tell SGC to open the Iris, which protects Stargate Command from invasion through the Stargate itself. Without a GDO, they could not tell if an incoming traveller is friend or foe.

Each SG team and several alien allies are given an IDC to be transmitted with their GDO.

Gamma Site

The Gamma site is the SGC off-world Scientific Research base, Similar in size and uses to the Alpha Site. The Gamma Site is used for scientific research that might be too hazards to be done on Earth. Lessons were learned after a Plant life form was brought back the Earth that grew out of control. However since the Gamma site has become active, it has become infected by a carnivore insect known to devolve human in a matter of seconds. In the end the Gamma base self destruction system was activated and was destroyed in the process. It is believed that the Gamma site has been declared off-limits until the Bug problem has been dealt with.
