Sarcophagus
In the series this is a Goa'uld device capable of restoring the health and damaged body of someone placed inside, or even bringing them back from the dead. If used over and over it has negative effects on the mind, as seen with Daniel in the episode "Need", and contributes to the Goa'uld being so evil. It was first seen in the Stargate Movie and has been in many episodes since. Hathor was trapped in one by Ra, until she was discovered on Earth... perfectly preserved for thousands of years. So we've also seen one used as a kind of statis chamber and prison. As seen in the episode "The Tomb", the Goa'uld Marduk had also survived trapped inside of a sarcophagus.

Skaara - Abydonian boy who met Jack and Daniel on their first mission through the Stargate. He is the brother of Sha're, who was Daniel's wife. Skaara helped Jack and Daniel defeat Ra, and he was pretty curious of their weapons and Jacks cigarettes. He later became host to Apophis' son, Klorel. He re-appeared in Season 6, where Anubis was looking for the eye of Ra. Skaara was going to get married, but was hit with a staff blast and then ascended.

Stargate
The Stargate is an ancient device discovered on Earth in Giza in 1928. A second gate was discovered in Antarctica in 1998. The STargates on Earth are part of a vast network of gates thoughtout our galaxy and beyond. They were constructed by an race called the Alterrans, better known by the name they later took, the Ancients.
The gate is made of the alien mineral naquadah and weighs approximately 30 tonnes (30,000kg or 64,000lbs). The gate has an inner track of symbols that represent the constellations in the night sky. These spin and are lockd in place by one of the nine chevrons located on the outer casing of the gate. The normal number of chevrons used to dial an address is seven, however, on three occaisions an eighth chevron has been used to dial a gate outside our home galaxy. It is unknown what the ninth chevron is used for. To dial these addresses a D.H.D. (Dial Home Device) is used. Should a stargate become separated from it's DHD, like the stargate used by the SGC, it can be dialled manually by hand, or a dialling computer can be sued like the one constructed by the USAF.
The gate used the 7 symbols locked by the chevrons to 'dial' an address. The 7 symbols are made up of six points in space to locate the destination and the 7th is the point of origin. The point of origin is the only symbol that changes when dialling an address from a different planet.
When this address has been dialed a 'wormhole' is created through subspace connecting the two stargates. It is through this wormhole that travel is possible. Travel through a wormhole is strictly one-way. Anyone or anything entering a wrong direction through an open wormhole will be destroyed instantly.
The gate uses a huge amount of power and is essentially a huge superconductor. It can accept many different types of power.
Chaos claims the wary or the incomplete. A true man may flinch away its embrace, if he is stalwart, and he girds his soul with the armour of contempt.

Singularity (episode)
The SG-1 team travels through the Stargate to planet P8X987, where another SG team has been making preparations to observe a black hole. But, when they get there, they discover that a strange disease has wiped out everyone on the planet. Everyone that is, except a little girl named Cassandra. As O'Neill and Teal'c remain on the planet to observe the black hole, Carter and Daniel return to Earth with the girl. Carter grows especially close to Cassandra and is shocked when she discovers that the chest pains Cassandra is experiencing are caused by a metallic device growing around the child's heart. Daniel and Carter ascertain that the Goa'uld planted the device as part of a scheme to destroy the Earth's Stargate. As the time bomb ticks down, Carter is torn between her love for the little girl and her knowledge that the child is being used as a Trojan horse by the Gou'ald.
Solitudes (episode)
The Stargate malfunctions while Colonel Jack O'Neill and the SG-1 team are evacuating from a firefight on a hostile planet. As a result, Teal'C and Daniel Jackson make it back to Stargate Command, but O'Neill and Dr. Samantha Carter find themselves trapped near a Stargate in an icy crevasse on an unknown planet. O'Neill is badly hurt - broken leg, internal injuries - so it falls to Dr. Carter to try to dig the nearby gate out of the ice and find a way to make it work. Meanwhile, as technicians try to repair the home gate, Teal'c and Daniel are trying to figure out what went wrong and where their comrades might be. They could be on any one of a million planets and if someone doesn't figure out which one soon, Carter and O'Neill will face a frigid death.

Seth
Also called Set or Suetekh.
On the show, Seth is a Goa'old who has been on the run from the System Lords and has been hiding out on earth since the Stargate was buried. He ran a series of cults through the years, always leaving dead bodies behind. In the episode Seth, SG1 and Selmak go after Seth. When they fail to capture him, Carter is forced to use a Goa'uld hand device on him, killing him.
In Egyptian mythology, Seth is the god of wind and storms. He is the brother of Osiris and the arch foe of Horus. He was thought to have red eyes (perhaps where the idea of the Goa'uld with glowing eyes comes from) and be the embodiment of evil.
