Allegiance ** season 6 spoiler **

Postby schrodinger » Mon Nov 18, 2002 9:48 pm

you know when all the jaffa and tokra are all lined up with their weapons pointing at an opposite enemy.

well the tokra's zats were not all fully armed, as some were lying alongside the barrel. when one is fully activated the top bit pops up and it energises.

so if they ever expected to be in a firefight, it would take some of the tokra a few seconds more to fully activate their zat's whilke the jaffa shot them, phew.

I swear i saw one of the zats fire during the episode whilst folded up. Perhaps a new kind of zat that doesnt pop right up? I know the de-activate sound was there after the confrontation, i'm not sure if the activate noise was before though :|
Come to think of it... I've got a feeling that this different type of zat was implemented in a previous season?

Lol, the sound of them charging was definately there before. A new kind of Zat!? Hum... I think that is was the fact that some Tok'ra were opposed to fighting the Jaffa so did not charge their weapons as they did not tihnk a fight was imminent.

P.S: What good is a Zat against a staff weapon? A zat has to fire twice,

yes, but its a high yield energy impact, not a zat, , the main difference is, ojne shot doesent kill you. a staff is hardly a peashooter, if you were shot in the chest, you would die, selmac was shot in the leg, and healed himself

Zats are far more suited to close combat, or stealth attacks. It's kinda handy to be able to make bodies dissapear if you're a Tok'ra spy ;). How many times have SG-1 taken out the guards using zat's, so as not to alert everyone else of their presense.
Staff's are more for more open battle, you don't have to hit the target to disable them. Its kind of like a grenade launcher versus a silenced 9mm ;)

Yes, but why did Jack not disintegrate him too? To avoid attracting attention from the Jaffa coming round the corner.
