SG1 General question thread

Due to the high amount of general questions being asked on SG-1 recently, this thread is for those kinda questions that once answered would be dead threads. (i.e how many episodes in total, who was that bloke in session 2 etc)

Now I've a little question. How many DVD's are in your box sets overseas... are they the same as the 5 disc sets over here, as seen here http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B00063E2XW.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg ?

There 6 I think on Season 2 to 6 at the moment. 5 for season 1

i got some questions:
1. why doesn't the gate spin off world?
2. how does a gate determine if it is for that gate before six symbols are touched(i mean when the chevrons light up)?
3. why doesn't the F-302 use a gatling gun or a energy cannon?
4 why didn't Ra just destroy earth when they revolted?
5. how did apophis determine that the gate on earth was active when he didn't go to abydos and Ra and his jaffa cant tel a thing because they died?
6. why don't we see more pyramid ships like Ra's?

3 They tired but it failed, I think their still working on it but given time we will soon have one.

4. I believe it wasn't tacticaly worth it, he only took over earth to take human slaves, it had no nad resources to mine and by that time he had slaves all over the Gaxley on other planets

1. the gates off world use a dhd to automatically lock the chevrons from the 'hard-drive' of the gate if you will. it only spins on earth as technically it is dialling manually but with a computer

4. remember the fact that was stasted later the gau'lds wipe out all people that resist(besides they think that they are gods so if the news spread to other words that they lived the others might try to rebel)

never mind about 3 i just saw intruder they has a gu on it or something to destroy the sencor/radio array but i dont get how they can have a gun because it uses powder to propel the bullet but the powder needs to explode

1. it's like a telephone. You have to dial when you call, but when you answere you down have to dial. That metafor works better with an old "round" phone type
