MARK STERN BE WARNED YOUR A MARK MAN!

Enjoy the summer of all-new episodes of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis while it lasts. SCI FI Channel in the U.S. will take a 6-month hiatus starting in September, with the second half of the current season to begin in March, according to a report from last week's San Diego Comic Con event.

SCI FI's Executive Vice President of Original Programing Mark Stern reportedly stated that the network is making the schedule switch so that it can air original programming year-round. Battlestar Galactica's third season will premiere in October, running 20 episodes without a break into March.

SCI FI recently premiered its new series Eureka to strong ratings, and has several other series in development.

Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis traditionally have returned from the fall break with new episodes in mid-January, airing the season finale in late March before a 3-month hiatus in between seasons. September will leave fans wanting more with a pair of cliffhangers: SG-1's "The Quest, Part 1" and Atlantis's "The Return."

It is not yet known how this will affect next season's schedule, should either series be renewed. If SCI FI sticks with a July premiere, the end of the current season would run up against the start of the next with little break in between.

This information has not yet been confirmed, so until then please treat it as you would any rumor. Stick with GateWorld for the latest updates!

:o  that is shocking news, and does this mean it will be shown in the UK first or do we have to wait for Sci Fi to show it in the US first

I've just been watching some trailers for "200" on youtube, and it looks great

stuff about "200"
it looks like it's a big fantasy, and the cast/writers have said in some videos that they have put in everything people have wnated over the last 10 years, there is a wedding for jack and sam, it looks like the ancients health thing comes back, they have spoofs of startrek in there and jack is back.

They also show the whole mountain explode, which is one reason I don't think it is in reality, and tealc is also shown talking like a rapper, overall it looks brilliant and I can't wait
 well, it still looks amusing, although it could be one of those things that is amusing once, but rubbish after that, although, being such a special episode, the writers should do better than that

Gateworld wrote:
The long drought of plot info on uncoming episodes is finally over, thanks to the debut of new episodes of Stargate SG-1 in the United Kingdom. Broadcaster Sky One has published its official summaries for this month's upcoming episodes.

Beware of spoilers below!

THE QUEST, PART 2
After discovering the frozen body of Merlin, the SG-1 team works to help him build the Sangraal before Adria and her Ori army can track them. With Merlin weakening by the stress of building the device he is left no choice but to transfer his consciousness into Daniel's body. Daniel, now empowered by Merlin's consciousness, races to complete the device. But having disabled the safeguard on a gate leading to Earth, Adria and an Ori army are able to descend on the site. Daniel must choose between saving the team and allowing Adria to take himself prisoner along with the nearly finished weapon.

BOUNTY
The SG-1 team becomes the target of a ruthless band of bounty hunters after Netan offers a hefty reward for their heads. Though Jackson, Carter and Teal'c are able to overpower their would be assassins, Vala and Mitchell are unaware of the peril they face and are left dangerously vulnerable at Mitchell's high school reunion. When bounty hunter Vashin takes the reunion hostage, SG-1 are ordered to surrender or face the mass execution of the reunion guests.

THE SHROUD
SG-1 learns of a new Prior spreading the word of the Ori in a more humane way than ever before and decides to investigate. When the new prior turns out to be Daniel Jackson the team elects to save him, even though it's very likely a trap by Adria. Whether or not they aid him with his potentially catastrophic plan becomes moot when the I.O.A. decides Jackson poses too great a risk and must be killed. Will Jack O'Neill (Richard Dean Anderson) risk everything to save his friend?

LINE IN THE SAND
After several successful tests using Merlin's device, General Landry sends SG-1 to use the device to protect a village from an aggressive Prior. But when the displacement field collapses bringing everything back into phase, the team and the village are left dangerously exposed when the Ori attack. Despite being critically injured, Carter is able to escape with Mitchell, though the situation looks bleak for Teal'c and the stranded villagers who face execution at the hands of the Ori.
although, from the end of quest, bounty can't be before shroud
RDA is in there, that's cool, and merlins weapon is completed
