But it may have reacted to O'Neill because he has the ancient gene, although daniel once wanted to use the devise, noone other than o'neill has used it so it could be the gene thing

Also, the place in the "tourment of tantalus" was before pegasus as it has an old fashioned DHD-like button (ie red not blue and cool looking)

Hi all i'm new at this so here goes.
I've just watched the episode where Daniel finds this universal language thingie (again) and He seemed a little miffed that it fell into the ocean. But surely now that there are two earth ships, couldn't they send one of them to go and get it with some aqua gear. It kind seems like a good idea concidering Daniel said that it had answers to the universe.
(Didn't they say that it was close to Abidos, if it takes 18 days to get to pegasus galaxy, it won't take too long to get to this planet)

totally agree, you would have thought they would have tried to go back, after all there is no way of knowing whether the database thingy (with the elements) fell into the water - the only thing we know is we cant get the stargate. (being optimistic i know).

However, now correct me if i am wrong but there has been no proof of the wraith ever been in our galaxy! Didnt the ancients encounter them when they went to the Pegasus galaxy?
