A new addition to the Stargate franchise is now in development by the boys and girls over in Vancouver. The untitled project will replace SG1 after it ends it's record breaking 10th season next year.

excellent, if production has started they must have a good concept, I hope it keeps the style of the other shows

That's just great news!! So the Stargate franchise will live on for many years to come

Can't wait for the first story details and to finally watch it in 2008/09 or 2009/10!! :cool:

and until then, we have sga and the 2 films, I wonder what it will be about, maybe another country sg progrm, although it will be the same as sg1

I would like to see what happens in the future, but the idea of stargate is modern day, way over our heads, just about making it into space, they can't suddenly have us as really adbanced in the future

Some more news! Michael Shanks (Daniel Jackson) has been approached to star in the new series! He would be the lead character.

so not in the future then, at least not too far, but shanks was the one actor I knew had other projects ready, and he will be on the new stargate. This news just makes it more curious about the subject, but jackson wanted to go to atlantis, so maybe if they find another galaxy etc they could go there and he would be allowed to go

Something makes me think that it will be similar to Star Trek DS9 and
it will be titled STARGATE: BABYLON.

Ship-based would be oukay but then it wouldn't be stargate...
And if the rumor of Shanks is true then a ship-based wouldn't work
