Discussion forum for Stargate Worlds MMORPG (Massively multiplayer online role-playing game). Stargate Worlds is based on the popular science fiction show Stargate SG-1.
Stargate SG-1: The Alliance has been cancelled. This is because JoWood didn't want to yet again torture hopeful fans.
"In recent months we have invested a lot of time and resources in helping Perception finish the development, but we now simply have lost confidence in their ability to finish this project in time and sufficient quality." Following the termination JoWooD has asked for repayment of their investment in development and further expenses. According to our reading of the contract the rights to the title as well as the source code are transferred to JoWooD". After delivery of the code and assets JoWooD will review the possibility of seeking out developers if it is economically viable to finish the title" reports Michael Paeck, Executive Producer for JoWooD Productions Software AG. "We are, however, not prepared to release anything but a top quality title. Fans of the show as well as gamers would not accept anything less. There are several options to consider, among them potentially moving to next-gen consoles for the title."
Well, it's not quite necesarrily entierly dead...
They say they might sell it off to someone to redo it for a next-gen console...
which means if they don't just kill it (which they probably will) it'll come in, oh, I don't know, a year or two
Asgard! Asgard, Asgard, Asgard! It's Norse! Not Asguard! Asgard!
they cancelled it as Perception Ltd couldnt be arsed to put all effort into it and it would have been an insult to fans to release with the quality they were producing
Chaos claims the wary or the incomplete. A true man may flinch away its embrace, if he is stalwart, and he girds his soul with the armour of contempt.
Are you kidding me ???
I don't want to hear this. I was waiting for this game ever since i saw the trailer and i was really looking foward for this title and this
I think it's our decision as to if the game is good enough or not. If they don't like it, they can put out a major patch or expansion later.
This is a tremendous pet peeve of mine. They aren't artists, they're game designers. all their work should be evaluated by consumers, not their own artistic standards.
I suppose if there was a catastrophic failure in their main game engine, they'd have an excuse, but if they're just whining about the asthetic qualities, they're just being dumb.
Asgard! Asgard, Asgard, Asgard! It's Norse! Not Asguard! Asgard!
