Stargate Atlantis Season 1 Volume 1 |
|
|
Info/Review: Just like the first volume of Stargate SG-1 season 9, before we get on with the review there's a little extra something worthy of a mention. When you first open the case of this DVD you're greeted with a Stargate Atlantis collectors handbook and a card "decoder wheel". The handbook contains the DVD release dates for season 2 of Stargate: Atlantis and season 9 of Stargate SG-1, and also some information on what can be unlocked with the decoder card. On the inside back of each DVD sleeve is a set of gate symbols. After first tearing of the activation strip on the card, you can move a wheel (The Stargate) and a code will appear in the wormhole. You the match the numbers up with the symbols on the dvd case to gain the code to access a restricted area of the official website http://www.atlantisdvd.com. Where you can watch new interview footage not on the DVDs, downloads (screensavers, ringtones, wallpapers), games, and win prizes from widescreen DVDs to signed stargate merchandise. The motion menus on this DVD is a neat Atlantis computer look. It's much easier to navigate and use than it's SG-1 counterpart, with each item being clearly selected with a semi-transparent blue bar. The graphics themselves feature stationary and animated schematics of Atlantis and the Puddle Jumper. The SG-1 menu's wern't bad, but the Stargate: Atlantis one's are pretty awesome and definately take the gold. Now on to the stuff you've really bought the DVD for, those fantastic extra features and Stargate Atlantis episodes.
